It seems the curses are coming more slowly, this month. Not a complaint, by any means, just an observation. Still, it makes you wonder what's in store for tomorrow.

[Still, this is accompanied by him scooping up the more mischievous of the two to keep her out of Anita's way.]

[Anita aims an idle swat at his leg from where she's sprawled out in the middle of the living room floor.]

[He laughs a little, settling down beside her and pushing back her hair to press a kiss to her neck.]

Can I help? You've been out here for hours.

[Glances up at him, pausing to give him a smile when he kisses her neck.]

I'm just cleaning out some old files I had from back when I was in the Force here. Most of these are citizens that are already gone, so there's really no reason to keep them.

[He smiled back, noticing that she avoided the actual question.]

Are you sure I can't assist in any way, love?

[She didn't mean to keep from answering the actual question. Her hand moved to his for a moment, then reached over to hand him a stack of files.]

... I'd like the help. Thank you, sweetheart. I'm just getting rid of the ones where one or all parties have gone home.

[He smiled and settled behind her, pulling her back against his chest so they could cuddle and sort at the same time.]

[With a soft chuckle, she settled back against him, hands full of papers. Every now and again, she'd toss one to a pile on her left; the others were placed in a box. It didn't take long for Smudge and Mercy to come over to see what was going on.]

He fended off a curious cat with an expert flick of a paper before it joined its fellows. Luckily they were reaching the end of the pile.]

[One would think Anita would be up and going after the pile was sorted through, but once the papers were dealy with, she just sighed and leaned back, tipping her head back to rest on his shoulder.]

[He settled back against the couch, snugging his arms tightly around her and smiling into her hair.]

[she let herself bask in his presence for a moment, silent but happy. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence and that was what made it even better. A long few moments later and both cats joined them, Smudge in Anita's lap and Mercy climbing both of them like a tree to perch in Anita's hair, a purring face close to Reeve's]

[He laughed quietly, tangling his hands in the ends of her hair.]

We should start planning for the wedding.

[Anita grunted as Mercy saw the motion in her hair as an invitation to play with some strands, but she didn't move to stop him. Instead, her hands started stoking Smudge, making the big cat purr]

... I've never done that kind of stuff before. I never thought I'd ever be able to marry someone.

[Expertly, Reeve deflected the silly kitten.]

Neither did I, honestly.

[He rested his chin on her shoulder, purring happily as he inhaled her scent.] We should chose a date, at least.

[Her head tilted enough to let her cheek rest against his]

We should. So... how soon do we want to do this?

"August, maybe? Before it starts getting nasty?"

He knows they have to give everyone some notice, and really, he doesn't feel the need to rush this. Their current blissful state is too nice to wait.

Her head starts pondering at the mention of the month, figuring time and such.

"During the summer. Well, it's good to let people know so they have some time, but what happens if... people leave?"

It's a constant worry now.

He hears what she's really asking. What if one of them leaves? He tightens his arms around her hips, pulling her closer.

"Sooner?"
