It's something we shouldn't, undoubtedly. But it happened, love. Despite our best efforts. And I -- honestly, I wouldn't mind having a family with you, Anita.
He'd find her in the spare room, where she'd obviously been working out. Granted, it didn't seem like she'd done her usual vigorous work, but she'd still done enough to loosen up her limbs.
He found her and brought over her water bottle, settling in beside her.
"This will just circle around to another conversation about how wonderful I think you are. Anita, I truly believe you'd be a spectacular mother. But if you don't want it, there are other options."
"It's still a bit early for a test to be right and I don't want to think about trusting the idiots that run this place. How do we know they won't fuck it up somehow?"
She sighed and twisted a bit, hissing under her breath as a pop sounded.
He managed to look rather sheepish, even though he couldn't look outright upset. "i'm sorry, love. I know it's in bad taste, but the truth is I could never marry a woman I didn't want a family with."
Oh, Anita. He wouldn't play this hand with her when they'd just both get hurt. "Ideally, I'd live with you in a place where we could have children when we were ready, without any dear of what might happen to them."
His hand caught hers, and for a moment his eyes were bleak. "Wit do you want me to say? That we could have two little girls who look just like their mother? Anita..."
He let it go, but kept their fingers locked together. "It's your decision, Anita, and I will be with you no matter what you choose. But for what it's worth, I still believe you'd be a wonderful mother." A small frown touched his lips. "And if you don't trust yourself, then trust me."
Her fingers tightened on his as she looked down at him. Her expression was odd; a mix of sadness and what almost looked like fear.
"I do trust you. I just... you're the only man I've been with that I'd want to have a family with. The others aren't good dad material, but... you are. You'd be an amazing dad. Part of me is screaming inside that this isn't a good idea, but the rest of me wants this to be true. I've never wanted this before."

Reeve, I can't be a mother.

He left the computer in the other room as he came to find her. This wasn't a conversation that should be distanced.
private/Action?
"How?"

"We don't even know if there's an 'it' to think about right now."

He squeezed her hand gently before he handed her the water.
"Anita, you have an amazing capacity for love and compassion. One day you will make an amazing mother."
Action
"Hardly. So how are we supposed to pass the next few weeks? I suck at waiting for something to happen."
Action
"There's nothing we can do to change it. So we go on living our lives. Although traditionally, at this point, I believe you could just take a test."
Not that he particularly trusted anything made by tht deities.

She sighed and twisted a bit, hissing under her breath as a pop sounded.
"You look happy about this."

She was looking at him now, even if her eyes didn't quite look completely in focus.

Smiling that odd, almost flat smile, she touched his arm, then moved to stand up.
"... I'm not sure what to think about all this."

"We're getting ahead of ourselves again. Let's wait first and see if anything comes of this."
As if it didn't make his heart race that she wanted a children with him. She thought he'd be a good dad.
Re: Action
"Yeah. You're right."
Settling against him with a soft sigh, she let her cheek rest against his for a moment.

No matter how things went, they would be alright. He would see to it.
